Does anyone know for sure if the 2210's diesel engine ships with break-in oil or not? The manual for the 2210 makes no mention of it and if one searches jdparts.deere.com using the 'search for model numbers that use the part number' for the break-in oil, the 2210 is not listed.
I have read other posts about 4xxx series manuals stating break-in oil and a parts site search matches this.
I would like to change my engine oil prior to the listed 50 hour interval but want to make sure I use the proper oil.

Any good quality 15W-40 diesel rated oil will work just fine in your 2210. Deere recomends the 15W-40 Plus 50 synthetic blend which is what I use. They also make a 0W-40 Plus 50 synthetic. The most popular and price minded oil seems to be the Shell Rotella T 15W-40 or 5W-40 synthetic which is sold at Walmart. Either will work just fine.
Your engine is shipped to the dealer with break-in oil in the engine already. I would recommend that you leave this oil in the engine for the full 50 hours and then make the change when you do your 50 hour break-in service. Pulling the engine oil change a little early probably will not hurt things but changing it too early runs the risk of not properly seating in the piston rings and other wear components of the engine which could cause other issues down the road.
